UV DTF Printing
UV DTF printing on cups, tumblers, water bottles, phone cases, helmets, and any hard surface. Waterproof, scratch-resistant, dishwasher-safe.
UV DTF printing is a cutting-edge customization technology that lets us print vibrant, full-color designs directly onto hard surfaces -- no heat press required. At Uneak Creations in California, we use UV-cured inks that bond instantly to the surface, creating a raised, glossy finish that is waterproof, scratch-resistant, and dishwasher-safe.
What Surfaces Can Be UV DTF Printed?
UV DTF transfers adhere to virtually any smooth, hard surface, including:
- Tumblers, water bottles, and stainless steel cups (Stanley, YETI, Hydro Flask, etc.)
- Ceramic mugs and glassware
- Phone cases and tablet covers
- Wooden signs, plaques, and frames
- Acrylic and plastic awards
- Helmets and hard hats
- Binders, notebooks, and laptop sleeves
- Metal tool boxes, lockers, and equipment
UV DTF vs. Regular DTF: What Is the Difference?
Standard DTF printing uses heat to bond transfers to fabric. UV DTF printing uses UV-cured adhesive to bond to rigid surfaces without heat. The result is a high-gloss, dimensional print that sits on top of the surface with a slightly raised texture. Colors are vivid, edges are sharp, and the print is permanent under normal use conditions.
Perfect For Corporate Gifts and Branded Merchandise
Custom-printed tumblers and cups are among the most popular corporate gifts in California -- and for good reason. Recipients use them daily, putting your brand logo in front of colleagues, clients, and strangers every single day. UV DTF lets you print full-color logos, event branding, names, or custom artwork on any quantity from 1 to 1,000+ pieces.
Is UV DTF Printing Dishwasher Safe?
Yes -- UV DTF prints are dishwasher-safe when applied correctly. We recommend top-rack placement and avoiding harsh abrasive scrubbers to maximize longevity. Hand washing extends the life of the print even further.
Frequently Asked Questions
DTF stands for Direct-to-Film. Your design is printed onto a special PET film using CMYK inks plus a white underbase, then an adhesive powder is applied and cured. The completed transfer is heat-pressed onto the garment at around 325 degrees for 10-15 seconds, bonding the design permanently to the fabric. The result is a full-color, soft, flexible print that works on virtually any material -- cotton, polyester, blends, nylon, and more.
For DTF printing, there is NO minimum order -- you can order a single piece if needed, and the pricing is still fair. UV DTF printing on hard surfaces also has no minimum. For custom embroidery, minimums typically start at 6-12 pieces depending on the garment and stitch count. For company uniform programs, we recommend a minimum of 12-24 pieces per style to make the program cost-effective. Contact us and we will give you exact pricing for your specific quantity.
Our standard production turnaround is 5-7 business days from artwork approval. Rush orders are available in 2-3 business days for an additional rush fee -- ideal for last-minute events, gifts, or uniform needs. Large orders (500+ pieces) or complex projects may require additional time. We will always give you a realistic timeline upfront when you request a quote so you can plan accordingly.
A properly applied DTF print will last 50+ wash cycles without cracking, peeling, or significant fading. To maximize longevity: wash in cold water, turn garments inside out, avoid bleach, and tumble dry on low or hang to dry. DTF prints that peel prematurely are usually the result of incorrect heat press temperature, pressure, or time -- something we control carefully in our production process. We guarantee the quality of every print we produce.
